One of Rush Graphics’ trustiest and most important presses, the HP Indigo is a top of the line SRA3+ format digital sheetfed press that utilizes HP Liquid Electroink Technology to produce incredibly sharp, crisp images at shockingly fast speeds. From brochures to business cards to posters to complex packaging with white layers on specialty substrates, this machine can do it all. Don't let its age fool you; the press started out as an HP Indigo 7800, and was subsequently fully upgraded to the newer 7900. The Indigo has been a part of the Rush machine family for 9 years, and shows no signs of slowing down or leaving any time soon.
What is HP Electroink?
To put it simply, Electroink is the specific type of ink used by the HP Indigo. It starts off as a very thick liquid, and once fed into the press, is mixed with a special oil to create a thinner carrier liquid with electrically charged color pigments. These pigments are then applied in precisely sized dots upon the substrate with incredible accuracy, producing a super sharp and highly detailed print. Here at Rush, since we are one of HP's demo centers, we have access to many features not seen anywhere else, such as the utilization of silver Electroink.
What can The Indigo 7900 do for You?
This machine has a wide range of inks including white, meaning your prints are not limited to opaque white materials, and can be printed on materials that are black, colored or even transparent. With the Indigo’s incredibly wide color gamut, this machine can match up to 97% of the Pantone library, capable of providing you with an extremely accurate match print representing what your print would look like when produced by an offset press, at a fraction of the cost for low to medium sized print runs.
