Taking Action: Stressing the Importance of Recycling Through Art
HP's Create What's Next Exhibit, held in Studio 525 in New York City, seeks to stress the importance and dire need for action to combat the effects of climate change and pollution through the use of art and design by architect/designer Germane Barnes.
In collaboration with Studio Barnes, Conservation International, Staples, and MIT Solve, Create What’s Next inspires attendees to recycle, showing how one small act can have a big impact

Rush Graphics' Part
HP and Rush Graphics maintain a close relationship, with Rush being an HP demo center, having access to experimental and exclusive technologies from HP. So of course, we were more than happy to provide any printing and installation needed for the event. Rush takes caring for the environment very seriously, and would never pass up the opportunity to help spread the message HP sought to instill in its attendees. We at Rush were responsible for any and all large format wall spreads, floor, window and glass decals, as well as any handout sheets and pamphlets. Each and every product was printed using water based HP Latex inks or HP Electroink.
The Message
You may be wondering how exactly HP went about its mission to spread the word and stress the importance of recycling and caring for the planet we call home. They created an exhibit that would entrance attendees with a hands on visual and physical representation of the processes HP goes through to recycle their ink cartridges.
The exhibit takes attendees on an experiential journey through HP’s ink cartridge recycling process, established over 30 years ago as HP Planet Partners.

HP's Pledge
According to HP, since they started their ink and toner cartridge recycling program in 1991, HP Planet Partners have recycled over 1 billion cartridges with the help from customers around the world. All of those cartridges would've ended up in landfills otherwise, causing irreparable damage to our planet. They didn't stop there however. HP has pledged a commitment to reach 75% circularity for products and packaging by 2030. Any and all consumers who own any type of HP printer are heavily encouraged to visit HP's official product recycling page to learn more about how you can help them reach that hefty 75% and have a part in saving our planet.
